30 Drawers in 30 Days – 2nd November

Holy behind the times Batman! What is it now, the 7th or something? Don’t worry. I have been diligently counting and swatching every day but with the latest Pretty Serious presale I haven’t had time to post. I plan on posting 2-3 entries a day from today until we’re caught up.

Now let’s get on with highlights from Day 2, my second China Glaze drawer!!

6. China Glaze Agro
YEAR: 2012 (Capitol Colours)
AVAILABILITY: Limited Edition, Still available at time of posting

I don’t know the first thing about what this polish means, or anything about the Hunger Games at all, but what I do know is that I cannot resist such an amazing golden olive green. It’s slightly darker and greener than Peace on Earth from the 2011 Christmas Collection, but definitely in the same vein. I loved a fair few colours from this collection – it’s such a shame I wasn’t more interested in the theme!

7. China Glaze Atlantis
YEAR: 2010 (Specialty Glitter)
AVAILABILITY: Added to Core Line

When I am asked what my favourite polish ever is, Atlantis is the first one to spring to mind. Not just from China Glaze, but from any brand. I love everything about it – the gorgeous teal jelly base, the insane amount of holo glitter and the name that evokes images of sexy Joe Flanigan. Superb. I also love to layer this polish over China Glaze Let’s Groove. You should try it!

8. China Glaze Purple Panic (Neon)
YEAR: 2005 (Nervy Neons)
AVAILABILITY: Discontinued

I adore this colour. I think I first spotted it on Scrangie’s blog, well before I’d ever gathered up the courage to talk to her or send her wombat related merchandise and heavy metal cookbooks. Purple Panic is a gorgeous neon fuchsia, but beware – there are two versions of this colour. The one you see here and a pinker version that lacks the punch that this one has. Why? I don’t know. But I do know which one I prefer!

9. China Glaze Let’s Groove
YEAR: 2009 (Retro Diva)
AVAILABILITY: Added to Core Line

Yet another standout star of the Retro Diva collection, it looks like Let’s Groove has been added to the core line, and with good reason! It’s such an amazing, rich, velvety purple that I couldn’t resist swatching it for this series of posts. It’s also a dead on dupe for NARS Purple Rain, so gals save your $$$ and go for the China Glaze version.

10. China Glaze Adore
YEAR: 2009 (Romantique)
AVAILABILITY: Discontinued

I’m probably not as big a fan of smooth chromes as I should be. I just always wish they were more vibrant – chromes tend to be pretty muted in terms of colour. I wasn’t too interested in the Romantique collection, but I did pick up Adore. This is my first time swatching it. I’m not in love with it, but it’s okay. It’s a pretty blue, just not something I’d find myself reaching for.

And that’s it for day two!

Next drawer is Revlon!
