30 Drawers in 30 Days – 3rd November

Still behind, I know but I plan to get a bunch of entries up today! Today’s drawer is the first of my two Revlon drawers. I can’t say that I’ve been terribly enthusiastic about recent offerings from Revlon, but when it comes to their vintage stuff – I can’t resist! I’m pretty sure all of the ones I am showing you today are vintage, with the exception of Rosefire which may be easier to find than the rest.

Funnily enough, as much as I love reds with golden shimmer, I didn’t love Rosefire at first sight. In fact, it has gone in the purge pile a number of times only to be rescued at the last minute. Having now swatched it, I’m glad I decided it’s a keeper. While it isn’t your usual bright ruby red that you normally associate with golden shimmer, Rosefire leans more coral and therefore, there’s something unique about it.

I’m not sure how old this polish is, or what collection it came from, but I gotta assume that it belongs with Tidal Wave. I love this colour – shimmering periwinkle with a dash of lilac around the edges. So pretty and unique. Revlon sure knew how to shake things up back then.

13. Revlon GoldZing
YEAR: Unknown (ColorZing, Europe)
AVAILABILITY: Very rare

I know I’ve swatched this before, but man is it ever beautiful! I couldn’t resist pulling it out for another look. GoldZing is part of the much loved ColorZing duochrome line. These gold capped versions seemed to only show up in Europe. I have four of them, but I would wager that there are two more hiding out there somewhere. I love how bright yellow this is. I don’t own anything else like it.

It’s vintage, it’s Revlon, it’s green. What’s not to love! This minty little beauty dates back to well before the Chanel Jade movement and I think it’s just as delicate and pretty. I have another similar yet slightly newer shade called Turquoise Tango which is a minty green as well. I guess the mint trend has been and gone before.

*sigh* In the bottle, this is magical but unfortunately on the nail it’s a big ol’ bumpy mess. The texture of the base is too thich as well and instead of showcasing the lovely glitter within, it just buries it, making the manicure gritty. I’ll keep it because it’s so pretty in the bottle, but I can’t see myself wearing it again.

Well that’s drawer three done and dusted!

Star tuned for more Revlon!
