30 Drawers in 30 Days – 6th November

15 November 2012 1,273 views 3 Comments

Today’s drawer is my Zoya and Color Club drawer and I gotta tell you, I had a blast picking through these. A lot of them I had forgotten that I even owned! While my Zoya collection is fairly decent, my Color Club collection is pretty small, but I love the ones I have. Zoya in particular is a brand that I love for a number of reasons, the first being that they rarely discontinue anything (a practice I am hoping to maintain with Pretty Serious) and also the fact that it started as a one woman show who just wanted to make a better, safer product. Color Club is fun and quirky with some of the most unique polishes on the market. Let’s take a look at the ones I have picked out!

YEAR: 2010 (Sparkle)
AVAILABILITY: Available

I own every polish from the Sparkle collection and three from the Summer 2010 Flash collection of cremes. I LOVE all of them. No one had quite nailed the glass fleck at this point and this collection from Zoya hit it out of the park. This was the collection with Zoya Charla that spawned a kerzillion dupes. Ivanka was my favourite of the collection for obvious reasons and although we have seen a few similar green glass fleck shades from Zoya since (Apple, Logan etc), Ivanka still remains my pick of the bunch.

YEAR: 2011 (Gems & Jewels)
AVAILABILITY: Available

I can still remember being so excited when swatches of this collection emerged. I’d been searching for the perfect emerald green for a long time and finally, here it was. Zoya Holly answered my prayers and I still love it just as much today as I did when I saw it for the first time. This ladies and gents is the PERFECT Christmas green. Well done Zoya.

YEAR: 2009 (Matte Velvet Winter)
AVAILABILITY: Discontinued

Ahh the beautiful Zoya Matte polish with the name I can’t pronounce. Verooshka? Veruska? Vammalammadingdong? Who cares, this polish is gorgeous. I wasn’t too on board with the whole matte trend but I adore the Matte Velvet range. Slap some topcoat over the top and they look stunning as you can see above. Also, are you surprised at all that all three Zoyas I picked were green?

29. Color Club Wild At Heart
YEAR: 2009 (Wild At Heart)
AVAILABILITY: Discontinued

You can’t tell from my badly lit pic, but this polish is a gorgeous purple scattered holo. In the sunlight it is truly gorgeous and I wish I’d been able to capture it better. It was part of the 2009 collection of the same name, which I loved so much that I bought four of the shades.

30. Color Club With Abandon
YEAR: 2009 (Wild At Heart)
AVAILABILITY: Discontinued

Also from the Wild at Heart collection (coincidentally) is With Abandon, a gorgeous chocolate brown with sparkling golden flecks. Please forgive my crappy swatch – I really haven’t done this polish justice. I love colours like this one and I find myself drawn to them a lot, even thought I don’t usually wear browns. I probably have a few dupes of this in my stash too!

Well that’s one full Helmer down… another five to go! Most of these drawers have been only partially full and I’m about to start hitting some full drawers very soon! That should see this frightening number jump significantly!
