30 Drawers in 30 Days – 9th November
Today’s drawer is where I keep my Models Own, Nfu-Oh, CND, Sephora OPI, Nicoles and those little Hot Topic bottles with the skulls on them. I was surprised by some of the colours I found in this drawer. I also discovered I have a habit of buying green Nicole shades at Christmas. I’m really enjoying this opportunity to go through my Helmers and revisit some forgotten faves.

41. Nfu-Oh 125
YEAR: 2008
AVAILABILITY: Still Available
Nfu-Oh 125 is a gorgeous sheer chartreuse shade that can be built to opacity. I picked up 121-125 (all green) from the Victorian Series when Vivid Nails were having a sale. I’m not sure if Vivid still distribute Nfu-Oh here in Oz, but I checked FabulouStreet and this shade is still available. I don’t have too many Nfu-Oh (10 or so?) but the ones I have, I love.

42. Sephora by OPI Rumba Romance
YEAR: 2010
AVAILABILITY: Discontinued
I remember there being a lot of fuss over the price point of Sephora’s OPI line when they launched in 2009 (earning them the abbreviated nickname $OPI), but be still my beating heart, I would have paid anything for this gorgeous molten gold shade from the 2010 Havana Nights collection. This is exactly what I have always wanted a gold polish to be – foily, beautiful and BRIGHT. I still see this one on eBay from time to time and if you don’t have it, I suggest you pick it up before it disappears forever.

43. Nicole Fell From The Tree
YEAR: 2010
AVAILABILITY: Discontinued
Gah! This colour is SO BEAUTIFUL and SO GREEN, but it just refuses to photograph correctly. For some reason, my shots are coming up way more teal blue but I can assure you that this is not the case. I have a habit of buying similar shades from Nicole, (Faux Fir for one) and I guess I just love these emerald shades too much to care. I might have to give this one a run again over the holiday period, it’s just stunning.

44. Creative Nail Design Rock Royalty
YEAR: 2007
AVAILABILITY: Discontinued
This rich purple creme with a teensy hidden shimmer was part of Creative’s 2007 Imperial Anarchy collection, one of the last actual polish collections from CND, who relaunched with their base & effects line in 2008. I have a lot of old CND, but this one is probably close to the top of my collection. I wish CND would go back to their ways – I’m not a huge fan of their new setup. I do believe that Rock Royalty is one of their Shellac colours though, although no idea if it’s the same.

45. Models Own Ibiza Mix
YEAR: 2012
AVAILABILITY: Still Available
I was totally shocked by the amount of Models Own polishes I have, considering they are only really available to me via their UK website, where shipping isn’t amazing. I picked up Ibiza Mix in my last order and I haven’t tried it until now. The first thing I noticed when opening the bottle was man, do these smell! Like dollar store polish smell. I don’t know if it’s just this particular shade, but I don’t remember any of my others being so whiffy. I was also of the belief that Models Own and Nails Inc share a private label co due to corresponding bottle shapes and caps but I’ve never know nails inc to smell like this either. Apart from the smell, the colours are pretty cool, although a little sparse. Pastel hex glitters in a variety of sizes and colours, Ibiza Mix is definitely unique.
