I’m taking a break in being behind on my Helmer count posts to post something a little different today. Some of you may not be aware, but the 14th of November is World Diabetes Day, a day when Diabetes charities and organisations around the world band together to help raise awareness for this life changing disease.
I was contacted by Pretty Random reader and loyal Pretty Serious customer, Hannah, who told me about her brave young daughter Rae who has been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Rae loves reading our blogs along with her Mum and enjoys having her nails done as well. Hannah has been trying to get as many bloggers as she could muster up to paint their nails blue for November 14th and I was more than happy to oblige.
But then I had an idea. Not only could I paint my nails blue for the 14th, but I could also make it even more special by unveiling one of Pretty Serious’s as yet unreleased Christmas nail polish shades from our upcoming Christmas Without Snow collection.
May I present to you, Pretty Serious Hot Summer Nights!
I really wish that my swatches could show you all how amazing this polish really is! Hot Summer Nights is a blackened bright blue jelly (I know that doesn’t make sense, but trust me when I say it is SO BLUE!) with scattered silver foil particles. It’s like BSOD’s older more sophisticated sister.
The polish pictured is my unfinished manufacturer prototype and I have requested the manufacturer amp up the foil particles for production so the finished product will have a little more sparkle than this one, but I couldn’t pass up this opportunity to share one of our new blue shades (yes, I did say ONE of!) and help raise awareness for Diabetes on World Diabetes Day.
