All About IMATS
Oh man, what is it, Friday? And this is my first actual post of the week? Blogger fail. Clearly this is not elite bloggery. Considering I’m such a shitty blogger, it’s a good thing that I didn’t end up taking up a spot on the ABBW, co-organised by the lovely Jacie from You’ve Got Nail, who totally didn’t accidentally buy a vajazzle.
I’ve had an awesome week. Apart from IMATS, I got to see Motley Crue rock the roof off the Sydney Entertainment Centre (with Poison’s Bret Michaels as support), and I also celebrated my eight year anniversary with my amazing boyfriend. To start though, I’d love to show all of you cool cats pics of my hair. I’ve very recently had it cut and coloured and I haven’t been this happy with it for a long time!

So yes, like I mentioned earlier, last Friday night I had the pleasure of finally seeing Motley Crue in concert.

I missed them last time they were in Sydney, and I am so glad I saw them this time. One of the loudest, fastest, most high energy concerts I have ever seen. I’m still reeling from how great it was.
Despite the late night, I hauled my ass out of bed bright and early Saturday morning to get back into the city with Em to get to IMATS at the opening time of 8.30. And I tell you, we couldn’t have made a better move. Getting in at opening meant that we got to hit all the stands before everything sold out. I’d shopped myself out pretty early on, but managed to grab some great stuff from Illamasqua and Inglot that sold out pretty quickly.

As you can see, my haul was pretty epic! I had such a great day. Exhausting, but awesome. On top of catching up with Jacie from You’ve Got Nail, but I also had the pleasure of meeting Violet Le Beaux and Carina from Gilded Nails. But you want to hear more about my haul, right?
As you can see in my first pic, I picked up some amazing books. Making Faces by Kevyn Aucoin, The Monstrous Makeup Manual by Mike Spatola and Vintage Hairstyling by Lauren Rennels.

There was also a couple of stands selling Ben Nye makeup at the most amazing prices! I picked myself up some scar wax, spirit gum, dark blood and a bruise wheel as well as some sponges. The whole lot didn’t cost me more than $45. If I had bought these online or in an actual store I probably would have paid three times as much!

I bought all four Inglot flakies (202-205). Aren’t they gorgeous? It was a good thing that we got there early because at the discounted price of $11.00 (on the site they are $16.00) these babies sold out within an hour.

While we’re on the topic of Inglot, I picked up one of their AMC lip glosses for $20 (Usually $28). The colour change is amazing, and even though I asked for 541 (blue), I ended up with 543 which is pink. Inglot gave me a few 20% off coupons so I might pick up the blue from the site later on.

I also picked up a few glosses from the Illamasqua stand. They were three for $25, which is a hell of a lot less than what they retail for here. From left to right Petulant, Mina and Frenzy.
Overall I had a fabulous time and I can’t wait for IMATS again next year!
