Chanel Aoyama 387 Blue Wish

I recently managed to get my hands on one of these babies. She hasn't arrived yet, but she is en route from Melbourne as we speak. I'm so excited that I couldn't wait to post about it. I got the awesome person who bought it for me to take a pic and borrowed it for my blog.

This is Blue Wish from the brand spankin new Aoyama Chanel Collection. Originally, we believed these to be an Asian Exclusive (so being in Australia I was able to get my hands on em), but now it appears they are up on Chanel's US website.

I'm feeling generous, so here's another pic.

Chanel Aoyama 387 Blue Wish

The collection consists of:

387 - Blue Wish
397 - Lune D'Argent
407 - Rose Libellule
417 - Galactic Touch

Now that I know these are going to be readily available, I think I might just wait a bit and grab the other three. :awe:

Misa - Silk Robe

I took this photo about two weeks ago. I couldn't take a pic today because it's horrible and overcast here in Sydney so my old swatch will have to do.

How pretty is this? It's so delicate! It's like OPI Creme De Menthe and Revlon Turquoise Tango got together to make sexy, sexy babies.

It's a little brush-strokey, but honestly I dont mind at all. Formula is the usual Misa-good and I had even coverage in two coats. I did a third anyway.

I'm not even sure how old this one is. I got it as part of a super awesome swap a month or so ago. Definitely top ten for me.

Polish as in nail, not as in Poland. But I'm guessing you knew that. April and May were pretty busy months for my Helmer, and I just wanted to do a brief wrap up of what came out, and what we learned is headed our way in the coming months. There's a lot to be excited about here.

Zoya
According to their latest press release, Zoya are jumping aboard the matte train and introducing three limited edition matte shades on July 1, 2009. Loredana is a gunmetal gray matte shimmer, Dovima is a black matte shimmer and Posh is a wine matte shimmer. They appear to have gone the way of Manglaze with their shimmery mattes as opposed to KO's flat shimmers. I like the idea of matte polish and I even have a couple of old Maybelline ones around. I hope I like these when the polish blogs start getting their swatch on.

And if you missed it, Zoya launched their most excellent Summer lines on April 1st. Ooh-La-La (shimmery awesomeness) and La-Di-Da (cremes). I love these, especially Ooh-La-La.

Ooh-La-La
Katy (Fuschia)
Talullah (Blue)
Midori (Green)
Goldie (Gold)
Emme (Pink)
Ginessa (White)

La-Di-Da
America (Red)
Dita (Berry)
Renee (Red)
Paz (Orange)
Ali (Hot Pink)
Pippa (Yellow)

You can see Scrangie's swatches here and here. Ooh-La-La and La-Di-Da are available from Art of Beauty (direct from Zoya).

OPI
OPI have certainly been busy. First up, they released their collaboration with the Lung Cancer Foundation of America - a beautiful shimmery blue shade called Breathe Life. It's currently available at Transdesign and you can see swatches at Scrangie's blog.

OPI's much awaited Colorcopia collection is also now available at Transdesign, and despite all the hoo-haa, I'd have to say that I think the whole collection is pretty much fail. OPI has many gorgeous, highly coveted discontinued colours, and why they chose to re-release the ones they did... well I'm just baffled. No Rainforest, no La Boheme, No Jasper Jade, No Black Tie Optional... I can keep going here. The following colours were the ones picked for re-release:

Berry Berry Broadway - New York City Collection 2000
Cancun Fiesta - OPI Nail Lacquer Launch 1989
Copper Mountain Copper - Winter Resort Collection 1995
D.C. Cherry Blossom - 9091 Collection 1990
Florentine Fuchsia - International Collection 1991
French Bordeaux - International Collection 1991
Kinky in Helsinki - European Collection 2002
Mediterranean Moonlight - Mediterranean Collection 1994
Purple-opolis - Greek Isles Collection 2004
Sahara Sapphire - Painted Desert Collection 1998
Shootout at the O.K. Coral - American Collection 1995
Venus di Violet - Collezione Italiana 2001

Scrangie has done gorgeous swatches and while she can normally make me buy anything, I'm not feeling this collection and I'll likely give it a miss. I've heard numerous accounts that the polishes are slightly different in colour and not as good as their old formula parents too. Sad. This could have been a killer collection.

OPI have also collaborated with Paige Denim for their latest Brights Collection, and once again, yawn. The only one that looks vaguely interesting is the No Room for the Blues, but it's so close to OPI Just Groovy to even bother. The colours are No Room for the Blues (blue), On the Same Paige (orange-red), Over the Taupe (because taupe is bright?), Shorts Story (hot pink), A Grape Fit! (purple) and In My Back Pocket (orange). Scrangie's swatches are here.

Newest from OPI is the Sunbelievable Collection, for Summer. It consists of four colours - Banana Bandanna (yellow), If the Fuchsia Fits... (pink-red), I'm His Coral-friend (orange) and Sea? I Told You! (blue). These actually look great! I'm really liking the look of the yellow and after seeing a swatch of the blue, I'm in love. It's so gorgeous and glitzy, not like OPI at all. I'm a huge fan.

As the year goes on, it appears that OPI are getting their gear together. They must have heard us all bitching about the Colorcopia Collection, because hold on to your pants, the OPI Espana collection looks freaking hot! Most notable being Here Today… Aragon Tomorrow - a gorgeous deep green! Can you believe it? I can't. The colours are dark and vampy and I really cant wait to see these girls in person. These are going to be available in August and will break my winter no-buy for sure! :hehe:

OPI's 2009 Holiday Wishes collection looks great too! Even the usual collection of reds doesn't look too shabby. Shimmery Chic and Sapphire in the Snow have already caught my eye! I hope my mind doesn't change once swatches start appearing! OPI describes the colours as the following:

* Ginger Bells - A yummy shade of gingerbread.
* Shim-mery Chic - A gorgeous glimmer of bronzed glow.
* All A-Bordeaux the Sled! - Dash in for this luscious shade of wine.
* Holiday Glow - Charcoal grey glowing with a touch of silver.
* Sapphire in the Snow - A deep jewel-toned violet-blue.
* Merry Midnight - Blue-violet, with a starry, multi-hued shimmer.
* Comet Loves Cupid - And you’ll love this classic red.
* Dear Santa - Please bring me this glittering holiday red!
* Glove You So Much - Almost as much as this burgundy!
* Smitten with Mittens - A burgundy glitter to warm your fingertips.
* Meet & Jingle - A rich crimson that loves to mingle.
* Crimson Carol - You’ll want to sing about this rosy-red shimmer.

Night of the Living Fun Dead? I love it. It sounds like a zombie carnival. That would make a great movie.

No, I'm posting this late, so it's nail of the last few days. :hrmm:

Yeah yeah, I know. Every post in the blog is either nail polish or Ace Attorney. :awe:

That's where my head (and wallet) is at, haha deal with it.

We're only a little over a week away from the release of Gyakuten Kenji in Japan on May 29, and already, the merch is starting to fly. And I'm buyin it all up like the crazed lunatic I am.

I have so much crap.

Ohh but I love it.

E-Capcom have offered a whole bunch of merchandise for sale to co-incide with the new Ace Attorney chapter, but the most awesome of all would have to be Miles Edgeworth's (Reiji Mitsurugi) teacup.

Seriously. WTF? I must own this. :hehe:

Teacup?

You want more? I gots heaps more. Click the link below.

Kitten Has Claws

This is the most awesome vibrant hot pink with purple flash. It's incredible. It's in your face. I love it. Everything about this polish is awesome. Especially the name!

Polish applied like a freaking dream. The only complaint that I have, and this is a CND complaint in general, is drying time. UGH. These gals take FOREVER to dry. However, thanks to some awesome Makeup Alley Nail Board Wisdom, I have learned that the Sally Hansen Insta Dri top coat (the one in the red bottle) makes these dry much faster than Seche Vite, or even my beloved Orly In a Snap. Thankfully I had a bottle of that lying around!

Weird thing is, Insta Dri is a UV topcoat. But it works without a UV lamp. Hurrah :awe:

So there's my lesson for today. CND polihes + SH Insta Dri = no more sheet marks. :teach:

(NSFW)

For some reason whenever I see this clip by the The Lonely Island, I just can't stop laughing hysterically.

It's the moustaches.

Gotta be the moustaches.

I really wish they'd put up the video for Ras Trent. Funniest Andy Samberg facial expressions EVER. :hehe:

Revlon Mystical
Revlon - Mystical

I swatched this a few weeks ago and I forgot how gorgeous it was with its purple and blue flash. I had to go back to it.

A lot of people don't really like Revlon polishes - either the formula is chippy or too goopy or thin. Some people just don't like wearing non salon polish. But I love my Revlons and I've never had an issue with any of those things.

Application and formula for this one was good, considering it would have to be at least four or five years old. I use Seche Base and Orly in a Snap, and that seems to be a pretty good combo for me. Three days without chips so far.

The weird thing for me is, that I can get OPI polishes for around $6.00 but if I was to walk to the shops to buy a Revlon, I'd be paying $12.95. Yet people still snob "drugstore" polish. *shrug*

Can you see it?

You're probably wondering what you're looking at.

Look harder.

Okay. I'll give you a hint.

TOP RIGHT CORNER! :awe:

Gyakuten Kenji is most definitely being translated into English as Ace Attorney: Investigations. Huzzah! This pic was taken at Captivate '09 in Europe a couple of weeks back, and posted on Court Records. GK will be out in a few weeks in Japan, but apparently we have to wait until US Winter (around Christmas) to see a translated version.

Also, the game won't have enough localisation work done in time for E3 this year, but Capcom plan to be able to pimp their wares at Comic-Con in July. Looking forward to that! x3

Even though I live in Australia, I'm LOVING these Canadian Exclusive Sally Hansen Passport Collections. The latest one is Passport to Harajuku. I didn't take these pics, but I'm using them with permission of the lovely Ang!
