BYS Glitterazzi. I like.
BYS cops an unfair rap. Sure, they are cheap and five years ago, maaaaybe their formula wasn’t the best. But times have changed and the amount of awesomeness that BYS has added to their polish line in the last twelve months should be met with rousing applause and a standing ovation.
The Glitterazzi line has been around for a while now – I probably first laid eyes on it about six months ago. But it was love. Sparkly, glitter filled love.

L-R: Lulu Blue, Voodoo Violet, Pink on the Brink, Kryptonite, Thunderstorm

Left – Sunlight, Right – Indoor w/ Day Lamp
This one is my hands down favourite of the bunch. Thunderstorm is a deep, murky green jelly, loaded with black glitter (yes, BLACK glitter), holo and silver glitter. Due to the fact that it is in a dark jelly base, it’s completely multi dimensional with the colours of the glitter changing depending on how much of the base colour is layered over them. The swatch is three coats.

Voodoo Violet is a clear second. The depth of the tinted base makes the glitter far more opaque, and the purple and holo glitter really pops in both sunlight and indoor light. It’s not quite as thick as Thunderstorm, but still really pretty. Swatch is three coats.

Pink on the Brink is still a beautiful colour, but unfortunately the jelly base is not as thick, and the glitter is a little more sparse than the previous two. It’s still lovely, but if you are looking for something a little more dense I highly suggest one of Zoya’s new Ultra Glitters in Luna or Astra. This would be great layered over black, hot pink or perhaps even metallic silver.

Lulu Blue is stunning. I had been looking for a glitter in this particular shade of blue for a long while and now that I have found it, wow! The glitter is packed in to this little number and I feel that the only letdown is the clear base. Nonetheless this is definitely a beautiful polish. I might see what it looks like with a few drops of BYS Dark Teal (a teal jelly) added to the mix. My bet is, fantastico!

I actually wasn’t going to buy Kryptonite straight away, which is odd for me considering how much I love greens. But I’ve grown kind of attached to it. It’s sheer, but it’s kind of pretty. The multi sized silver and minty glitter in the light base gives it a really cool effect. Like Pink on the Brink, it’s great over black, but also fine for a little bit of subtle bling.
Tangent: Someone NEEDS to make a forest green and teal version of Starry Starry Night.
Overall, I would say that I love these polishes and I am even considering picking up the colours I originally passed on. I would have liked to see some of the colours in darker bases, but that would have to be my only complaint. Another thing that might put people off is that BYS are generally pretty strong smelling. But hey, I love old Streetwears and Hard Candy so I don’t mind a whiff of chemicals every now and again.
BYS is an Australian brand and can be purchased from Gloss and Ice stores across Australia and also online at Fashion Addict. It is my understanding that they are also available in the UK, but outside these two countries, if you are jonesing for some BYS madness, you might need to consult a friend to CP for you.
