Finally, I want to wish a happy birthday to my amazing Ben, for tomorrow.

This is an incredibly unattractive drunk photo (of me anyway) taken on New Years Eve (probably New Years Day by then) of 2003. I think this is one of my favourite photos of us. It’s silly, spontaneous and unpolished, just like we are. Ben and I were still just friends then, we had been for 2 years or so, but it wouldn’t be too long after that I would realise that the best person I would ever meet was already under my nose. Ben was the kind of guy that was always there if I needed him. He always looked after me when I had drank too much (as you do when you’re 20), came to visit if I was sick, listened when I was upset and was always up for a late night Cheeseburger run.

He’s my best friend, who has helped me through some hard times and is continuously helping me become a better person, as I hope I am doing for him. He makes me laugh like no one else I have ever known, and even after seven years he still makes my heart beat faster whenever I see him. We have had our ups, as well as our downs, but every one of those highs and lows has changed me and helped me grow.
