You guys, my no buy started today. One day down, 30 to go. It wasn’t that bad, actually. Mind you I was off work and busy as a beaver so the real test will be tomorrow when I go back to work and get to sit at my computer all day. That’s where my mind wanders and so does my credit card. DIRECTLY TO EBAY. Yeah, you know what I’m talkin’ ’bout.

For today’s post I thought I would take some lacklustre shots of quite possibly the most amazing collection that I’ve seen in a long time – Kleancolor Metallics. Forgive the shitty cuticle on my index finger – buckets of moisturiser haven’t been doing sweet fanny adams for me and it keeps cracking. But a girls gotta swatch, right?

If you want quality swatches of these, I suggest you check out The Edge of Sanity, because I was so blown away that I purchased four that she featured – from L to R: Metallic Red, Metallic Aqua, Metallic Fuschia & Metallic Green. Now having tried them, once my no buy is over in September I’m going to have to pick up the rest of these in another Beauty Joint order. Or you know, I might die.

First up is the wonderful Metallic Red. Can I just sit and sigh for a minute? This is amazing. Even more amazing – ONE COAT. Yes, you heard me. These Kleancolor Metallics are one coat wonders. Metallic Red is slightly darker than a true red and as foily as all get out. Splendiferous, if you will.

Oh my god, it’s a like a tropical lagoon ON MY NAILS. Once again, Metallic Aqua is one coat of pure brilliance. It’s a perfect cerulean blue, ready to assault your eyeballs with beauty and majesty. How could anyone in their right mind pass on this colour? This is one that would cause car accidents from distracted drivers looking at their nails in the sun. Maybe they should print these metallics with a warning label.

Metallic Fuschia is more purple to my eye, but I’m not here to quibble, only to drool. Also, Fuschia is one of those words that I always spell wrong then have to go back and edit. Like Genuis. Geenius. GENIUS. One coat danced on to my nails and the angels sang their heavenly choir. And it was good.

STOP THE PRESS. I’m sorry for my crassness (yeah right) BUT METALLIC GREEN CAN ONLY BE DESCRIBED AS THE SHIT. Honestly, have you ever seen anything so awesome? For years I lusted after a little known UK Maybelline called Electric Apple. This is Electric Apple after five lines of coke and a litre of Red Bull. I want to wade in giant vats of this stuff. I want to name my firstborn child Optimus Voltron Metallic Green Harris. That’s how much I love this polish.

Kleancolor’s Metallic range consists of twelve shades (Metallic White, Metallic Purple, Metallic Pink, Metallic Orange, Metallic Yellow, Metallic Sapphire, Metallic Mango & Metallic Black are not featured here ) and can be purchased for the paltry price of $1.75 each plus shipping from Beauty Joint. I have tried their service and it is most satisfactory. These are more like super bright, super pigmented versions of those old Sally Hansen chrome polishes. They’re just amazing.
