A Quick Music Monday Post
March 8, 2010
I hate to tie myself into standard blogging traditions because I don’t ever stick to them. I’m really as random as my blog title suggests.
But I watched a few clips on the weekend that I wanted to share with you all.

Weird Al Yankovic – White & Nerdy
I love Weird Al, and White & Nerdy has been my fave for a LONG time. I think you have to click and view on youtube because embedding is disabled but it’s so worth it. Even if you have heard the song already, the clip gives it so much more! Gotta admit I had quite a few “Hey, that sounds like me…” moments during that song.
A friend of ours swears it was written about him haha!

Bloodhound Gang – Screwing You On The Beach At Night (NSFW)
I saw this clip and heard this song for the first time on my weekend and I couldn’t stop laughing. The video is a parody of Chris Isaac’s Wicked Game clip, and Jimmy has some of the funniest facial expressions I have ever seen. I have no idea how that chick is keeping a straight face.
I need to work out how to incorporate “I know my haiku’s are freaking intense, but even the words I made up to sound French, don’t express my feelings for your toilet parts…” into my wedding vows somehow. Romantical, yes? Or how about “I would show up for our pottery class, dressed like a pirate with John Water’s mustache, On a unicorn that shits your name in stars…”
Needless to say, It’s Bloodhound Gang so probably NSFW.

Korn – Y’All Want A Single (NSFW)
I really liked Korn’s first few albums, but not really anything recent. This song really stood out to me though. I have serious issues with the monopolies that various corporations hold in both the music and movie industry. I gotta give them cred for making this clip. I really wish that things would change and artists would get more of their profit without being forever indentured to a label. It’s improving slowly with the growth of the internet, and the ability for artists to self publish, but it’s still in a really bad way.
WHOA. Serious much?
Sorry bout that!

Pat Benatar – Heartbreaker
This is the song I am listening to right this second. Pat Benatar Rocks. Although she will forever remind me of Fast Times At Ridgemont High.
Actually, there are three girls at Ridgemont who have cultivated the Pat Benatar look.
Night peeps, I’m old now so I’m off to bed. Sweet dreams!

How in the hale did I miss that BhG video?!?! And that Lupus left the band?!?!?!?! That video was semi-enjoyable, like I find most of the BhG videos.
I must admit I prefer early Korn the best, too. I probably know the first disc by heart. And I still have two t-shirts, which I still wear (though not around town.)
My husband enjoys singing “White and Nerdy” and “It’s All About the Pentiums.” Those songs need to DIAF IMHO, at least in this household. Now, “Your Horoscope For Today,” that’s a different story.
Hope you start feeling better soon!!
