One thing that annoys the bejeezus out of me about Nails Inc is that their company name is completely lower case. On the bottles, it looks neat and lovely but on paper, I just can’t bring myself to call them nails inc. It’s killing me to leave it looking like that. I just want to go back and capitalise the brand name. I don’t want to say I’m OCD about this, because I don’t have OCD and I know there are people out there who do legitimately have it. I’m just slightly anal and weird. Like how if I spill crumbs on the table around me while I eat I have to clean it immediately, even if I’m still eating. True story.
I wonder how much spam I’m going to get for using the word anal?
But enough of that, how BITCHIN are these glitters!
I’m REALLY digging Nails Inc’s new Special Effects line. First there were 3D Glitters, then Crackles, and even now they have Glitter Crackles. But the most exciting additions to the Special Effects line would have to be these two glitters – Reading, and Glastonbury named of course after famous music festivals. Rock on!
First up is Reading, a super dense combo of gold and red hex glitter that somehow manages to pull orange without even actually containing any orange. Now that is special. I have three coats on my fingers in this swatch, but I could have gotten away with two. These are NOT top coats people, unless you really want it to be, in which case apply ONE VERY LIGHT coat and you might get away with it.
Here’s a close up of the glitter so you can see what I mean. See? No orange in sight. Just gold and red hex glitter. I love how the gold glitter is tiny against the larger red pieces. This colour is smashing.
Next up is Glastonbury, which ended up looking very different to what I expected from Nails Inc’s promotional picture. It’s a mixture of gold, purple and green hex glitter and I wish I could have been able to get better, clearer shots of this. My swatches haven’t been the best lately – perhaps it’s time for a new camera and to review my lighting setup. The colour is MUCH brighter IRL as you can see from the close up shot below. This is also three coats.
How vibrant are these colours! Beautiful rich purple and gold hex glitters mixed with larger emerald green pieces. Glastonbury is a breathtaking polish and I adore it.
These guys are LE so if you have access to Nails Inc, please don’t hesitate or you will regret it! They’re currently up for sale on the Nails Inc website for £11.00 (or £9.90 if you are a rewards member). They currently have free shipping for orders over £50 and a free gift of a makeup bag and two full size polishes when you spend over £35.00. But unfortunately they don’t ship outside the UK, so if you are anywhere else in the world, you’ll need a mule or to keep your eyes peeled on eBay.
Speaking of LE, I loved that you all thought it was okay to break my no-buy for a wishlist HTF, but I gotta be honest and tell you that I slipped today. I fell off the wagon. Illamasqua are having a Summer Sale!! Not just that, but they restocked the Boo duo and sold it for £10.00!! I didn’t buy it, because a lovely friend had already bought it as a gift for me before I woke up this morning, but I did end up placing an order. BUT, I am quite proud of the fact that I got two Illamasqua polishes (Hectic & Fern) PLUS an eye shadow, lip gloss and liquid liner for a mere £37!
I’m back on my no-buy again now, but man, some things sure are worth bending the rules for!
