OPI 2009 Ulta Holiday Exclusives

I don’t normally do posts on new collections and stuff, I tend to leave that to the more proficient bloggers. I especially don’t do posts on new stuff that isn’t even available here in Australia. But I just got two of the three OPI Ulta Holiday Exclusives… and wow.

I really don’t know what to say, so I’ll make with the pickchers.

Uhh yeah, I’m dazzled alright. This has seriously got to be the most beautiful OPI gold that they have ever produced. EVER. It has knocked “I Get A Kick Out Of Gold” off its pedestal with a swift foot to the ass. I’m normally not a huge advocate of OPI, but I seriously think this gold is headed for cult HTF status. It’s foily, it sparkles, its bright without being too white or too yellow. It’s just perfecto.

Formula was a little sheer, not what I was expecting after using IGAKOOG, but for a shade like this, an extra coat is woth the hassle. Have I mentioned that I am also a fan of the pro-wide? Cos I totally am. :awe: I like this so much I’m considering a backup. Can you imagine if they made this in green? I would shit twice and die.

I think that this shade was better than anything out of OPI’s actual Christmas Collection. What the eff are they doing giving it only to Ulta? Visions of Sugarplums (Sugar Plums? I have no idea if its one word or two and I don’t have the bottle with me) is a gorgeous deep purple with a fuschia and purple sparkle that needs to be seen in person in order to fully appreciate its majesty. MAJESTY I TELL YOU!

The base colour is a lot more dense than Dazzled, it’s almost jellyish to allow the sparkle to shine through at different depths giving the colour a whole lot of different dimensions. It’s shiny and gorgeous, even without top coat. The formula on this one is a little thicker than Dazzled too. But I was kinda expecting that.

This colour is also reported to be a bang on dupe of Fingerpaints 2009 Seasonal Colour Icy Iris. I don’t have Icy Iris (it’s one of the few I didnt get) to compare but from what I have seen, this is true. My only explanation for this is that it is a complete fluke, as despite what I have heard about what Sally Beauty employees may tell you – OPI does not make Fingerpaints.

The last colour in the collection is an OPI staple – a red named Dreaming of Red. I didn’t get it, but you can see a swatch (plus better swatches of the ones I posted) over at Scrangie’s corner of the web.

If you have access to an Ulta at all, I suggest you run out and buy these. And if you don’t well try and find someone who does! These are too good to miss!
