OPI hasn’t really honked my horn as of late, but all that changed when promotional images of the Coca Cola collaboration emerged. While the rest of the shades were nice, but dupeable – one had everyone talking. THAT GREEN.
And for once, OPI’s over digitised promotional product shots didn’t disappoint. Bottle shots of Green On the Runway began to appear and we were left with our jaws on the floor. People, I have been around nail polish for a long time and I have seen colours and collections come and go. THIS is future vintage gold. Once it’s gone, people will want it and it will sell on eBay for big bucks. Buy a bottle now while you can. Buy a backup.
It’s weird using the pro wide after not using it for a long time, but even that being said I had zero issues with application. For a duochrome polish, it was surprisingly pigmented. Two coats of coverage was great and I didn’t need any coloured base.
There’s a bevy of duochrome polishes on the market right now from manufactured brands and indies alike but this colour is unique. I haven’t seen any other brand come up with this gorgeous green/pink/gold shift. The green is so bright! It then shifts through salmony pink to olive green and finally to gold. Amazing.
Surprisingly I ended up picking up four of the shades (I also got Orange You Fantastic, A Grape Affair and Today I Accomplished Zero) and it’s been a while since I have had any interest in an OPI collection at all. It has been confirmed though that a bunch of these colours are identical or very similar to other recent OPI shades (You’re so Vain-illa/My Vampire is Buff, Get Cherried Away/Anti-Bleak, A Grape Affair/Vant to Bite My Neck?, Today I Accomplished Zero/Stay the Night). I also think A Grape Affair might be similar to the discontinued Sapphire in the Snow and LE Madewell to order. Disappointing but I dunno, I still kind of love these. Even though I am a Pepsi gal.
Seriously though, I have no idea what connection Green On The Runway has to Sprite, but you all NEED a bottle or two for your stash. This is a future vintage OPI classic.
