Wheee! I’ve made it to day three! Fifteen polishes in, 35 to go! 11. Gap Horror Flick – I hope you’re all excited because I have started off today’s proceedings with a doozy. I know next to nothing about this polish except for the fact that someone bought it from the Gap, then I bought it for next to nothing on eBay in 2008. It’s been sitting in m drawer since then and this is the first time I have ever swatched it. This is two coats layered over Pretty Serious Forbidden Fruit (EEEEE SHAMELESS SELF PLUG). How unique and [...]

Well here we go again! A few more HTF vintage weird and wonderful swatches direct from my helmers to you. I’m really excited about what I have to show you in the next few days, so let’s get this show on the road! 6. Naturistics Aura Pearl – I’m telling you – this photo does this gorgeous polish absolutely no justice. I have a lot of Naturistics now (matching brush handles! Wheee!) and some of them have to be seen to be believed. A lot of people talk about polishes being lit from within – this one truly is. The [...]

This is my third year writing this post (wow, how time flies! See 2010 here and 2011 here) and I am such a fan of lists and putting your wishes down on paper, or a blog entry in this instance, that I am going to do it again. Not only because it seems to have some sort of cosmic HTF attracting powers when I do these posts, but also because it’s fun to look back upon lemmings fulfilled. 2011 was a good year on many fronts, especially for ticking things off the ol’ wishlist. Rarities procured in the last 12 [...]

Yeah, I know I was supposed to do things yesterday but I was so busy… and then this raccoon came- (LOL the episode of Friends where Joey can’t lie kills me every time). I did plan on posting this last night, but I made the mistake of going to Costco. And hour and a half later and four hundred dollars down we finally escaped. Then another hour to get home. So by the time I finally walked through the door, blogging wasn’t as much on my mind as vegetating. And veg out I did. Here’s part two of my unloved [...]

Firstly, I just want to say thank you to all of you for your wonderful supportive comments and well wishes on my last post. I’m so grateful for all of you, and I’m going to do my absolute best to make sure that my polishes and makeup are available worldwide. I’ll keep you all updated on my progress via Pretty Random, but you can also follow Pretty Serious on Twitter or Facebook. For Bottle Spam Sunday today, I thought I’d fish back through my twitter for some discontinued goodies. Enjoy! Covergirl Crackles in Smashed Pumpkin, Electric Shock & Fire Crackle [...]

No, no. Not getting married. My brain is just the consistency of that pink stuff from Ghostbusters 2 and it was the absolute best I could come up with for a snappy title for this post. With this level of creativity I should just stop writing right now and save you all the pain of my mind numbing dribble. But I feel that if I can bang out a blog entry, this day won’t have been totally wasted in a haze of advil and despair, so you’re going to have to just deal with me. Or, you know, close the [...]
Aussie, Not So HTF, Vintage »
Either I’m totally ignorant or its a case of Earth Day Marketing Fail, because I seriously didn’t have a clue. I don’t have any polish on right now, so I guess that’s kinda green? I had a bubble mailer arrive the other day with a casualty enclosed (Sally Hansen Wild Frost for those interested. Purple and irreplaceable. Me = Bummed.) and whilst I cleaned the other items of the blood of their fallen comrade, I stripped off my Illamasqua Muse mani in the process. Sadly, the desire to paint again has not surfaced. Partially because I’ve been going to bed [...]

I have been meaning to put this post together forever, so today I figured what they hey and hauled out all my polishes. Essie’s much coveted Starry Starry Night is an elusive lemming for many. I remember a time when you could pick this baby up for less than ten bucks on eBay, but now I have seen it go for ten times that. Ridiculous. The good news is that with a little patience and a little detective work you’ll be able to find something close that may not be as harsh on the wallet. The bad news is that [...]
