Hey, remember that time when I said I’d try and get my haul post from the Sydney International Spa & Beauty Expo up before I went on holidays to Queensland? LOL I’m so funny when I try and make commitments to my blog.
Now that the new product launch is out of the way and things are settling down – well SOME things anyway, but more on that later – I thought I’d finally show you what I got my hands on at the trade expo as well as the cool new stuff I’ve picked up lately as well. Huzzah!
Look at me, all important and shit
Firstly, I gotta be lame and show you this. I know, I know. But a year in I’m STILL pinching myself. Pretty Serious is my baby and to see it go from strength to strength is like watching a child learn how to walk. Plus, how cool is it that it got me into a trade show? Woohoo cheap polish!
And now on to the good stuff!
Nicole Count On Me, OPI Danke-Shiny Red
I’ve really got to mention OPI. Sadly, I wasn’t too impressed with the staff at OPI at this show. Apart from the guy that punched Emma in the boob (yes, that happened), when she asked them about Spotted being released outside of France, they knew nothing about it to the point that they were suggesting that Spotted was a fake. *facepalm* It’s always a worry when the bloggers know more than the actual staff. But the Nicole stand was much, much nicer. Em even assisted the very pretty looking sales guy with using the eftpos machine. Poor little guy wouldn’t have been a day over 16. Bless. Anyway, I picked up Danke-Shiny Red from OPI’s Germany collection and Count on Me from Nicole.
While we’re on the subject of OPI, I have to mention these non branded magnetics that I bought because the colours were just so awesome. The funny thing about them was the GIANT DISPLAY of FAKE OPI on the counter where I bought them when OPI had there own booth across the hall. Does anyone else find that hilarious? Because I do. Especially when they were over there telling us that Spotted was counterfeit.
Nails Inc Pudding Lane, Royal Arcade, Sweets Way
Nails Inc was of course a highlight for me and at 3 for $25 I’m stunned I didn’t grab more than the three beauties I did. I did get to preview upcoming holiday gift sets though and I gotta tell you – the one with the black holo, red glitter and multi glitter is going to get pulses racing.
Orly After Party, Flicker, Smoulder
Orly was there too with the same fabulous three for $25 that Nails Inc had. I don’t know if I’m behind with Orly but I had never seen any of these before. After Party has amazing green and pink shimmer through the foily navy base and Flicker and Smoulder are so rich – they really remind me of the China Glaze Retro Diva collection which I adore. Pretty sure there are dupes for these in the OPI Germany collection too.
Overall, it was an awesome day and I’m thrilled I had the opportunity to attend. It was much, much bigger than IMATS from last year and with a much bigger selection of brands, which surprised me. I’m still looking forward to IMATS, but man the Spa & Beauty Expo blew my mind. Already hanging for next year!
Okay, on to the rest of my recent purchases!
Nails Inc Sloane Gardens, Princes Arcade, Warwick Street
These three Nails Inc were picked up from eBay and I can’t believe how gorgeous they all are. Nails Inc. WHY ARE YOU SO AWESOME?! Check out the glitter in Warwick Street! So unique!
Guppy Matte Glitters 17, 18, 2, 6, 11
Yep, I caved. I bought more fruity booze glitters. And it’s a good thing that I did because I can’t see them up on eBay anymore. I didn’t get all of them, but I think I ended up with a nice selection.
Cutex Camouflage, Shine, Mauve Lightening, W7 Teal, Cosmic Green
Picked up these awesome vintage Cutex that I’ll be swatching later in the week too, well at least one of them is awesome. Guess which one? LOL. I picked up a couple of super cheap W7 shades too to give them a go. I was pleasantly surprised by the teal when I swatched it and I think there’s an awesome olive green that I should pick up as well.
Sally Hansen Techno, Tinsel. Revlon Golden Glimmer
Thrilled to add another couple of Sally Hansen’s to my collection – these are getting hard to find! But Revlon Color Illusion is even harder. I picked up Golden Glimmer to add to my collection.
Lastly, how great are these Clarins glosses! I got two of the four, but I’m honestly thinking I need to grab the pink and coral as well. They smell absolutely delicious!
Well that’s the last of my haul from the last few months (I guess by my usual standards I’ve been pretty well behaved!) but I’ve got some new exciting stuff on the way that I can’t wait to get my mitts on.
Woohoo for hauling!
