Watermarking

Just a quick question guys – I’m working backwards through my flickr and watermarking my photos. I’ve had a few instances lately where my hands have been on eBay and they even showed up on someone elses blog! I’ve decided on it looking like this:

I’m just hoping it doesn’t interfere with the picture too much. Opinions? Yay? Nay? Bigger? Smaller? Darker? Lighter? Different font?

I’m also displaying my creative commons license in my sidebar. I guess when it all comes down to it, if people are going to snag your shit, watermarks and copyrights don’t mean jack – but they may deter people all the same, so it’s worth it.

At least by watermarking I’ll be able to take my hundreds of nail pics on flickr and make them public again. I’d also like to resume uploading pics to nailgal. Do you guys think it would be an issue having my blog name on nailgal pics? I know I probably wouldn’t be allowed to post on MUA with these pics (blog pimpin rules and all), but I still want to share without feeling like I am coercing people to read my blog. If you wanted to read, you’d already be here right?

Thoughts and opinions much appreciated!

Edit. Also, if images arent displaying on my entries, leave a comment on that entry and I’ll fix it. Making the move from private to public changes the photos URL.

Look fine to me! Not sure about nailgal. Does anyone else have watermarks on photos there? I can’t remember. I personally don’t have a prob with people having watermarks on the photos there…

If you look closely a lot of the pics have some sort of watermark, which I guess is fair enough considering the amount of theivery that goes on with nail pics (I mean really – sad much?). I just don’t want to feel like I’m shoving my blog in peoples faces, but I don’t have the time to watermark two sets of pics.

I like the font! Maybe it could be a little more transparent? I don’t know if it’s because I have ADD but I find it a little distracting.

When I think about watermarking and nail pics Lextard on Flickr comes to mind!

I have watermarks on my photos on Nail Gal. It’s just a matter of protecting my Intellectual Property. And, I figure, I don’t run a business where I use Nail Gal to spruik my lacquers (like another nail lacquer company *cough cough*).

:cookie:Looks just perfect to me. I’d rather just the one line. Another blogger has about three and it really interferes with seeing her nails.

Looks good Kaz…. Don’t change a thing… You are right it may stop those dirty pogs stealing ur lovely nail pics or it may not but at least ppl will know where they came from…. Luv your work xx

The watermark looks fine. I’ve actually been meaning to start doing this with my pictures, since I don’t want people to steal mine, either.

Jess – I was thinking that – I will drop the transparency a little. Thanks doll! Yeah but Scrangie and Lextard both have amazing nails. I’ve got no idea why someone would want to steal my nubbins.

Jacie – Yes, I hear that. I’m not selling nothing but I don’t know. I’m weird, I dont think anyone else is bad for doing it, but I feel odd doing it myself? Like all the others are legit blogs who deserve the advertising and my blog is a poser? LOL I’m weird.

People will steal no matter what.

You might want to add on the pictures in a corner that they are not allowed to be used on auctions or other sites without permission. I did it for a while but my pics never get stolen that I am aware of. You can also try adding the copyright symbol to your pics by pressing alt 0169 when you make your watermark.
